65-gallon AeroTherm with Bradford White Connect

The 65-gallon AeroTherm with Bradford White Connect is the middle size in this heat pump family. It gives homeowners a larger stored reserve than the 50-gallon version while remaining shorter than the 80-gallon model. WHE compares that reserve with the busiest part of your household’s day, then checks whether the location can support the equipment.

This guide covers RE2H65T10-1NCTT-CON, the exact model on Bradford White’s AeroTherm with Connect product page. The separate AeroTherm G2 range uses different model numbers and specifications. Include the full suffix when requesting equipment or comparing a proposal.

Values are from Bradford White specification 1901-0325, checked October 19, 2026. The sheet abbreviates the model to RE2H65T10-CON; the product page provides the complete ordering listing. Element wattages correspond to 240V and 208V respectively. The two resistance elements are wired for non-simultaneous operation.

First-hour delivery combines stored hot water with heating during the test hour. It is useful for comparing peak demand, but it does not describe continuous output after the reserve is depleted. UEF is a standardized efficiency rating; your electricity use also depends on water consumption, room conditions and mode selection.

Will this model fit your replacement space?

The 65- and 80-gallon models share a 25-inch jacket diameter, while the 65-gallon heater is 7 1/16 inches shorter at the top of the cabinet. That makes it worth measuring when a larger reserve is desirable but overhead space is limited. The connection heights also differ; existing piping should be measured separately from the tank body.

Bradford White’s installation checklist calls for a 700-cubic-foot room, or an appropriate louvered-door or ducting arrangement for a smaller space. It recommends seven inches around the rear and sides, eight inches above for filter access, and a clear front. These are planning recommendations; the model’s installation instructions determine the permitted arrangement.

Heat pump operation also produces condensate. Plan where that water will drain and whether a condensate pump is needed. WHE reviews the drain route, piping layout, electrical supply and access together. A tank that physically fits can still be unsuitable if the surrounding air cannot circulate properly.

Heating modes and everyday use

This family offers Heat Pump Only, Hybrid Standard, Hybrid Plus, Electric Only and Vacation modes. Heat Pump Only prioritizes efficiency with slower recovery. Hybrid settings add resistance heating as needed; the current specification describes Hybrid Plus using the compressor and lower element together. Electric Only relies on resistance heat, while Vacation reduces the temperature setting during an absence.

Discuss your normal routine before choosing a default mode. A home with spread-out draws may behave differently from one with consecutive showers. If you regularly need faster recovery, that is useful sizing information for the installation estimate. A mode change should not substitute for investigating a persistent fault or an airflow problem.

What the Connect version adds

Bradford White Connect supports app temperature adjustments, schedules, energy-use tracking and error alerts. Its adapter requires its own 120V power source and setup with your home network. That power connection is separate from the water heater’s 208V/240V supply. Confirm the Connect equipment and setup are included in the proposed installation.

For a seasonal residence, discuss how you want to manage the heater when you leave and return. Keep the account credentials and installation records accessible to the homeowner. App controls are useful for convenience, while correct sizing, installation and regular maintenance remain the foundation of reliable hot-water service.

Compare the three Connect sizes

AeroTherm with Connect capacity and performance
Model Nominal / rated storage First-hour rating UEF
RE2H50S10-1NCTT-CON 50 / 45 gal. 65 gal. 3.44
RE2H65T10-1NCTT-CON 65 / 65 gal. 79 gal. 3.64
RE2H80T10-1NCTT-CON 80 / 75 gal. 88 gal. 3.59

This is the middle option to compare when a smaller tank’s reserve is marginal but the tallest model may complicate the installation. Its published UEF is the highest of these three Connect models. That rating alone does not make it the best choice: a correctly sized heater and a suitable air supply matter more than choosing a model from one efficiency number.

For other equipment types, use the Bradford White model guides, our hybrid water heater installation guide or the complete model catalog. Compare the installed scope as well as the equipment: access changes, electrical work, drainage and piping can all affect the project.

Maintenance and warranty

Keep the washable air filter accessible and follow the manual’s cleaning instructions. Have the drain, tank, relief valve and corrosion-protection components reviewed on the recommended maintenance schedule. Save the model and serial numbers and note any displayed fault code when requesting service.

The RE2H limited residential warranty provides ten-year tank and parts coverage for this ten-year model in qualifying single-family use. Other applications have shorter coverage. Review exclusions and service-cost provisions; ten years of parts coverage is not a blanket ten-year labor promise. Confirm separate accessory terms for Connect equipment.

65-gallon AeroTherm questions

How much hot water does the 65-gallon model provide?

Its nominal size is 65 gallons, DOE rated storage is 65 gallons, and its first-hour rating is 79 gallons. Actual delivery depends on draw patterns, temperatures and operating mode; the first-hour figure is not a continuous flow rating.

Can it use an ordinary 120V outlet?

The water heater requires a suitable 208V or 240V single-phase supply. The Connect adapter has a separate 120V power connection. WHE reviews the existing electrical arrangement before specifying the replacement.

Will it fit where my electric tank is now?

The cabinet measures 63 3/4 inches high by 25 inches in diameter. Allow separately for connections, air circulation, drainage and filter access. Send a wide photo of the space, not only the tank label.

Does Bradford White Connect increase hot-water capacity?

Connect provides app controls and monitoring. It does not increase tank volume. Tank size and the selected heating mode still determine how the equipment responds to demand.

What should I send for an installation estimate?

Text the model and serial label, the full installation area, nearby drain and electrical connection, plus your city and any hot-water concerns. WHE can then discuss the next steps for an installation estimate.
