A family background in plumbing
Eric grew up around plumbers and mechanical engineers, learning about the trade from an early age. He was licensed as a master plumber in Colorado in 1995. His Florida Certified Plumbing Contractor license, CFC1426133, was first granted in 2004. Learn more about Eric Strand, founder of Water Heating Experts.

From Colorado radiant heating to Florida hot water
In Colorado, Eric’s company, Peak One Plumbing, installed radiant floor heating systems. He enjoyed the technical side of that work: designing a system around the comfort people wanted in their homes. He later started DesignerPlumbingOutlet.com, staying in the plumbing industry while building an online business and several other websites.
As competition from Amazon and the recession changed that business, Eric decided to return to hands-on plumbing. In Florida, his focus shifted from warm floors to warm showers. He founded Water Heating Experts in 2017 to bring that same interest in system design to household hot water.
Tankless systems, hybrid heat pumps, digital controls and leak detection gave homeowners more choices—and more questions. Eric saw a place for a specialist who could help people understand those options. General plumbers handle a broad range of work, from drains and fixtures to repiping and household leaks. WHE concentrates on water heaters and the plumbing that supports them.
A family business, growing into the next generation
Eric and his wife, Laura, have been married since 1995, and Laura has been part of the business from the start. Their son, Zachary “Zach” Strand, now has more than four years of plumbing experience and is taking on a growing role in WHE. Daniel is also part of the team. That family approach carries into how we work: listen to the homeowner, explain the options and pay attention to the installation details.
Focused on your home’s hot water
We help homeowners with water heater installation and replacement, repair and service. Our work includes electric storage tanks, gas storage tanks, tankless systems and hybrid / heat pump water heaters.
Our goal is to provide the hot water you want in your home: enough for your household, delivered promptly and efficiently, with attention to the monthly cost of running the system. That means discussing both comfort and operating costs when we help you choose equipment.
Choosing equipment starts with your home, not just a brand or tank size. We ask about hot-water use, the current heater and any problems you want to solve. Then we review the installation space, energy source and requirements of the proposed system. Our water heater model guides can help you explore options before we discuss your project.

Outside of plumbing
Eric still enjoys designing websites. Away from work, his interests include range shooting, motorcycles and classic Toyota Land Cruisers.
Local to Palm Beach County
We serve Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Wellington, West Palm Beach and surrounding Palm Beach County communities. We also provide water heater installation and replacement in Hobe Sound. See our installation gallery for examples of WHE’s work.
